Auction of power colony school Rupnagar canceled as per CM’s orders- Dinesh Chadha

On the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the auction of GGSSTP Model High School building at Power Colony Rupnagar has been canceled. This was stated by Rupnagar MLA Advocate Dinesh Chadha in a statement issued here on Thursday.

He said that the Punjab Chief Minister had issued these orders in the public interest and had withdrawn the wrong decision taken by the previous Congress government to sell the school at Power Colony Rupnagar. He said that when the residents of the area informed about this, he  took up the matter with the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Advocate Dinesh Chadha said that  the main objective of the Bhagwant Mann Singh-led government is to provide better education and health services to the people of the state.

He said that the Chief Minister Punjab had also announced that no private school would force the parents to buy books or uniforms from any particular shop to curb the looting of the common man. They will not be able to increase the fees by even one rupee during the current semester.

Advocate Dinesh Chadha further said that the Punjab government would soon come up with a policy on purchase  of books and uniforms to make education more accessible to the common man. He said that the Punjab government was working out a blueprint for the major reforms in the field of education which if implemented would have immediate positive results.
