Benefits of schemes related to minorities should be ensured to reach people: Lalpura

It should be ensured that the benefits of the schemes related to minorities reach the people and they should be made more aware about the schemes. This was stated by Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities during a meeting with officials of various departments at the District Administrative Complex Rupnagar on Friday.
Lalpura said that people’s response regarding the schemes should be ensured to reach to the government. He said that whatever problems there are regarding crematoriums or cemeteries, they will be addressed. On this occasion, people from different communities shared their views and pointed out the problems.
Lalpura said that if there is any problem related to giving benefits to the people, then it should be brought to his notice immediately, they will addressed promptly.He said that the difficulties faced regarding registration under the Anand Marriage Act will be removed. He said that the government has decided that no one will be asked to remove the karra(Iron bangle)and kirpan (small sword)in any examination.The government has asked to include representatives of every religion in the film board.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Preeti Yadav assured that whatever instructions Lalpura has given, they will be fulfilled in any case.
On this occasion, District Police Chief Vivek S Soni, Additional Deputy Commissioner Harjot Kaur along with officers of various departments were present.
