Dr Harsh Charitable trust-a hope for orphan destitute girls

Dr Harsh Charitable Trust distributed cheques for school fees worth 3.25 lakhs to needy girls for their education in private schools in different parts of Punjab.

Today, at the office of the trust in Patiala, 75 girls arrived to receive their cheques for 3 month school fee along with eatables and cash incentive for festive season.

Dr Harsh Charitable Trust is working since 2008. The trust has girls from all religions. The criteria for inclusion in trust are poor orphan girls from any caste, creed or religion but a resident of Punjab.

56 girls from gurdaspur, 3 from jagraon, 2 from firozpur, 2 from anandpur sahib, ropar, patiala, jalandhar, ludhiana and different villages of Punjab are getting regular fee from this trust.

2 girls, whose both parents have committed suicide, are also getting help from this trust. 2 girls have received help from the trust who are in financial problem because of the chronic illness of their father. One of them is a kidney transplant recipient and the other is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Dr Harshindar Kaur, president of the trust said that major chunk of the corpus of the trust is their own contribution. Dr Gurpal Singh, secretary of the trust added that they are very thankful to the NRI philanthropist who has been magnanimously helping them regularly. Dr Sukhmani Kaur, daughter of the couple and Nanakjot Singh, their son have been helping them since the formation of the trust. This time, their daughter donated a part of her first salary to the trust.
