MLA Dinesh Chadha raises issue of illegal sale of forest land in the Punjab assembly,case registered

Rupnagar MLA advocate Dinesh Chadha, raised the issue of alleged illegal sale of forest land locked under Sections 4 and 5 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act(PLPA),1900 to the forest department. at throwaway price by showing it unlocked land by some people in Rupnagar district, in the Punjab assembly.
In reply to the question of Chadha Punjab Minister for Forest and Wildlife Protection Lal Chand Kataruchak said that some people had sold the land locked under Sections 4 and 5 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act 1900 to the Forest department. The land in village Karuran, Tehsil Anandpur Sahib, of Rupnagar district r was owned by private individuals.
The forest minister said that the Punjab Government has initiated action against four senior officers and issued a charge sheet under Rule 8 of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969. A civil Suite has been filed in the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anandpur Sahib of Rupnagar district for the recovery of amount from land seller owners and cancellation of registry.
He also told the assembly that a case was registered against the accused on June 27 in the matter.
