Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H Joshi is appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. Dr. Virinder Singh, Advisor to Chancellor gave Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H. Joshi a floral welcome. He also welcomed Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, Dr. Sandeep Singh, President and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President and other dignitaries.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University expressed his happiness at having such a distinguished personality amongst the administrators of DBU, which would accentuate the reputation and progress of the University and would also be instrumental in giving a wider perspective to the motto and vision of the University.

Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H Joshi said that he is glad and honoured to be a part of Desh Bhagat University, which has gained recognition not only in India but worldwide due to its commitment to extensive learning, quality teaching and industry-oriented training. He also shared that given his long experience and knowledge over the years, he hopes and wishes that he would add to the development and growth of DBU, which has immense potential and is bound to gain recognition as the prime-most University not only in Punjab, but across India and worldwide.

Dr. Pramod Mandal, controller of examination, DBU gave a formal welcome and introduction to Dr. Abhijit H Joshi. He shared that Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H Joshi was former Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda and Professor, HOD of Department of Ayurveda and Yoga, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. Dr. Joshi has about 23 years of professional experience which includes teaching, research, administration and institution building. He is a renowned professor, particularly known in the field of academics and administration for his extremely logical and practical approach towards the most difficult situations. He is a source of inspiration not only for his students but leaves a mark on everyone who come into his contact with his wisdom and charisma. He is extremely admired by his subordinates for his excellent administrative and management skills.

Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit H Joshi Joined as Vice Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University. He is an excellent Orator as well. He has been actively involved in many important quality initiatives undertaken by NAAC, Bangalore for quality higher education and has been a Member of NAAC Peer Team since 2017. He is also a member of UGC, CCRAS, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. Of India, AICTE, CCIM), New Delhi. Along with that, he is associated with many Government and Non Government, National and International Bodies as an expert in various committees. He has various laurels to his credit, such as he was rewarded with Presidential Award , that is, Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman in 2019, Global System Award, Haward University, USA in 2019,  for his contribution for the cause of Sanskrit Language, Aryabhatta Award, Young Scientist Award, Pride of India 2021 Award and many more. Dr. Abhijit Joshi is a distinguished academician and researcher and has published more than 70 extensively in National and International indexed peer reviewed journals, 11 books and has translated 45,000 A4 sanskrit pages into English.  He has several articles, public interviews, publications, conference proceedings, teaching and research programmes to his credit.
