The Joint Front of Trade Unions (JFTU)  of the four PSU non-life insurers-National Insurance Company Ltd, The New India Assurance Company Ltd, The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd and United India Insurance Company Ltd. protested against the government’s decision to disinvestment of the general insurance companies.

Memorandum, about their demands was also given to the management.

The Joint Front of Trade Unions in the general insurance sector have decided to Demonstration on Wednesday and further programs of protests against the government’s decision to hike FDI limit to 74% and also demanding merger of the four PSU general Insurance companies and early settlement of wage revision,” Comrade Trilok Singh , General Secretary, General Insurance All India Employees’ Association (GIEAIA) had told to a news agency.

“Our other legitimate demands are scrapping of the new pension scheme and reverting back to the old pension scheme. We are also demanding to uniform family pension up to 30 percent without any limit.
