A Series of orientation programs for New Entrants of B.C. A, BBA and B. Com at Govt Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala was held under the guidance of College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kusum Lata on August 7,2024 and August 12, 2024 respectively according to the guidelines and academic Calendar issued by the Directorate of Higher Education, Govt. of Punjab.
The Program Started with the Ceremonial Lamp Lighting followed by college Dhuni. Such Programs provide essential information to help new students integrate into college life. The Information aboutthe members of staff, importance of regular class attendance, assignments, and the timing of mid-term and end-term examinations, meeting the minimum attendance was shared with the students.
Students are introduced to various avenues for personal development and community engagement. The National Service Scheme (NSS) offers opportunities for social service and community development, fostering a sense of social responsibility. The Placement Cell plays a key role in preparing students for their future careers by organizing workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and career planning, and facilitating recruitment drives on campus, Red Cross unit that emphasizes humanitarian work, health awareness, and emergency response. This unit allows students to contribute positively to society while gaining valuable experience. Additionally, the Knowledge about the college supporting a range of extracurricular activities through various clubs, including cultural, sports, literary, and entrepreneurship-focused groups was shared by the Club or Activity Incharges. These clubs provide students with platforms to explore their talents, develop skills, and engage in broader community activities.

The College Principal gave valuable advice and suggestion to the students for their overall development wishing the all a great future ahead. Dr. Paramjit Coordinated the program and the program was a success with the assistance of Dr. Jyoti Tirthani, Dr. Rekha Rani, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Dr. Reetu Kapoor and all members of the staff. Overall, the orientation program is ensured that new students are well-informed about the academic and extracurricular opportunities available, setting a strong foundation for their time at the college.The Eco Club initiated planting a sapling by Principal , Staff and Students.
