State, central govt offices in Patiala defy government orders

Union govt has declared state mourning for October 4, 2020 (Sunday)  as a mark of respect to as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, passed away on September 29, 2020.

Though the central government has already announced the State Mourning around 2-3 days back, stating that “during the state mourning, the National flag would remain fly half-mast across India on the buildings, where it was being flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment during the aforesaid period”, and an official communication was also forwarded by union home ministry to all the chief secretaries of the state and administrators of all the union territories, while declaring the state mourning, on October 3,2020.

But most of the Punjab government offices, central government offices, banks , Indian Army offices in Patiala, defied the official orders of union government of state mourning- to fly National Flag half mast.

When the royalpatiala.in team visited the state govt , central govt offices in Patiala, it found , all of them flouted the govt orders, only district administrative complex in Patiala, where the offices of commissioner Patiala division, deputy commissioner, ssp along with other departments, followed the guidelines in true spirits and half mast the National flag, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary.

But the team found the offices of Punjab state transmission corporation limited (PSTCL), Punjab public service commission (PPSC) head office, state bank of India (SBI), municipal corporation Patiala, inspector general of police, Patiala zone, central Jail Patiala, The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Army’s divisional headquarter building, at Rajindra Lake on Mall road, defied the govt orders and didn’t lower the national Flag (Half Mast) to pay respect to the departed dignitary.

Being Sunday and a weekend holiday in government office, the team royalpatiala.in  is unable to take the version of all the government officials, who defied the govt orders.
