TSPL partners with PHDRDF for its CSR Health project -SEHAT

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), largest thermal power plant in Punjab has signed a three-year Agreement with PHD Rural development Foundation for ensuring availability of medical, paramedical and laboratory services in Primary Health Centre(PHC),Behniwal, Mansa as well as for conducting periodic specialized health camps in the vicinity. These services are a part of Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of the company under its health initiative Project SEHAT(Safe and Effective Health Action by TSPL).
Access to health services is a major challenge for rural communities in the vicinity of TSPL. Due to unavailability of hospitals and medical practitioners in the PHC, Behniwal, the villagers had to travel approx.20 kms for availing health services. Taking note of the inconvenience and lack of medical facility in the area TSPL has partnered with PHDRDF (social arm of PHD Chambers of Commerce) for supporting the PHC in Behniwal village, Mansa with medical staff comprising of MBBS doctor, gynecologist and dentist besides free of cost laboratory test services.
Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD, TSPL said, “We stay committed to our mission to give back to the community and society at large.We have been supporting PHC, Behniwal since 2016 to help communities’ avail affordable health services in the vicinity.This year onwards we have included additional services of gynecologist visit at PHC apart from organizing specialized health camps(eye checkup camps etc.) in the vicinity. We hope that these additional services will help in improving the health ecosystem of the area.”

Expressing gratitude to TSPL for its continued support, Harpreet Kaur, Pharmacist PHC, Mansa said, “I would especially like to express my heartfelt gratitude to TSPL management for introducing additional services at PHC& with gynecology services now available,we are witnessing surge in women patients.”
