TSPL’s EV sourced from SHG women starts plying routes, driving electrifying transformation

TSPL (Talwandi Sabo Power Limited), Punjab’s biggest power plant etched history with launch of its Project ‘par EVahan’ first of its kind initiative in the country. Through this innovative landmark project , TSPL has engaged with Community Led Federation(CLF) (comprising of rural SHG formed by PSRLM)for hiring its Electric Vehicle (EV) serving dual purposes of conserving the ecosystem while also accelerating the community’s progress for an illuminated future.

The vehicle made its way to the plant on Thursday (September 28th), where the senior leaders took a maiden drive on the electro mobile. The vehicle has started to ply the routes around Mansa district & within the plant boundary as well contributing to an ‘EVergreen’ tomorrow. This endeavour will have a substantial impact on diminishing TSPL’s carbon footprint curbing 1.5 million gm C02 while concurrently generating income opportunities for rural women entrepreneurs. The convergence model facilitates hiring of electric vehicle from rural  SHG women for 5 years at pre-fixed monthly rentals. Additionally, Vedanta TSPL also offers to provide charging stations, maintenance costs, etc to sustain this green & empowering model’s economy.
