Rajasthan Transporter booked for stopping truck midway via GPS, obstructing Punjab officials’ on duty

Malerkotla Police has booked the owner of a truck number RJ-14GP-9566 on the complaint of RTO, Malerkotla for obstructing the Punjab Transport department officials in discharging their official duty.

Malerkotla City police has registered a FIR (42 dated March 11,2025) on the complaint of RTO, Malerkotla against the owner of truck number RJ-14GP-9566 under section 221 obstructing a public servant in the performance of their duties ), 285 (offenses concerning public safety and order, specifically concerning danger or obstruction in a public way or line of navigation) , 351 (2) ( crime of criminal intimidation) under BNS, 2023.The truck is registered in the name of M/s Jyoti Road Lines (HUF), Taragarh Ki Dhani, Mega Highway Road, Parbatsar, Nagaur, 341512.  Nagaur city lies about midway between Jodhpur and Bikaner. Nagaur have huge mineral resources.

As per available information, Malerkotla transport department officials were checking the vehicles on March 11,2025 morning and challaned the above said truck for overloading and driving the truck without the driving licence. The RTO officials’ challaned the vehicle for Rs 29,000 (Rs 24,000 for overloading and Rs 5,000 for without driving licence) and asked the truck driver to bring the truck at police station.

While taking the truck to the police station, the driver Parkash called up his owner and appraised him about the challan and other updates. The owner instructed the driver to not to take the truck at police station. In the meantime, the owner switched off the truck through GPS. The vehicle got stranded on the road obstructing the traffic, causing disruptions in vehicular movement, affecting traffic flow and increasing the risk of accidents

When the transport department officials requested the truck owner to unlock the truck via GPS, he misbehaved with them on telephone.
