Bahadurjeet Singh/Rupnagar, December 9,2023

On the directions of district president Ajayveer Singh Lalpura, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today staged a protest at Rupnagar by burning the effigy of Congress party’s Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand Dheeraj Sahu. BJP leaders led by mandal president Jagdish Chandra Kajla took out a rosh march from the market and raised slogans against the corruption-ridden Congress party and the India Alliance. A large number of BJP leaders gathered at Bela Chowk and burnt the effigy of Dheeraj Sahu and the entire Congress leadership. Speaking on the occasion, Kajla said that today’s programme has been planned to raise voice against corruption as per the instructions of district president Ajayveer Singh Lalpura ji.

“It is very unfortunate that such a huge quantity of illegal currency was recovered from various locations of the Congress MP,” he said, adding that it was surprising that even three dozen of the machines used by the Income Tax department to count notes were damaged. He said that the history of corruption committed by the Congress party is very long, starting with the 1975 election scam, in which Indira Gandhi was allegedly found guilty, besides the 1976 oil scam, the 1987 Bofors scam, the 2008 2G scam, the Commonwealth scam, the Antrix Devas scam, the coal scam.  Kajla said that the entire India Alliance formed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi is under question and the leaders of this alliance neither have any vision for the interest of the country nor their intentions are clear.

He said that the aim of the Congress party leaders is only and only to come to power in some way or the other, no matter what they have to do for it. He demanded that the Central government should conduct a CBI inquiry into this matter so that it can be found out who is connected to the incident. He expressed apprehension that the money was to be used in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.  On this occasion, young BJP leader Ginni Jolly lashed out at the Congress party and demanded the President to immediately dismiss the membership of the said MP.
