Fraudsters don’t even spare religious places; SMVD shrine board files FIR for duping devotees

The online fraudsters have duped many devotees in the grab of providing tickets for chopper bookings to Mata Vaishno Devi.

After receiving complaints by duped devotees Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has filed FIR against fake chopper booking websites with the Jammu and Kashmir police cyber department for duping them in the garb of providing tickets for chopper bookings.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine board public relations officer (PRO) Sushil Bharti has confirmed the same and said that many complaints were received from pilgrims about fake helicopter ticket booking websites. Immediately, the shrine board decided to lodge a police complaint with the cyber wing of the Jammu and Kashmir police so that the real culprits can be put behind the bars.

“We’ve urged them not to fall prey to them. Bookings can be made only on our official website or on phone application, nowhere else,” said Bharti.

“The issue is being investigated, while pilgrims are being sensitised not to fall into the trap of such websites. For the bookings, no travel agent has been given the authority,” he added.

They even got the tickets as well. But when they came to pay obeisance, here they got to know that the tickets were fake.

Helicopter services start from Katra on the foothills and the flight will drop you at Sanjhichatt.
