Residents of Patiala saved Rs 300 crore due to Zero bill scheme-Jauramajra

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fulfilling the promise of giving 300 units of free electricity per month to all the electricity consumers of the state. The 300 unit free electricity facility of the state government is benefiting every section of the society without any discrimination. Since the implementation of this decision till now, 86 percent of consumers have received zero bills and residents of Patiala have saved Rs 300 crore as power bill. This act of Bhagwant Mann government is being appreciated from all corners.
Punjab information and public relations minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra said, the decision of 600 units of free electricity to every consumer irrespective of any caste, creed, religion, reservation is welcomed by every Punjabi. He disclosed that with these 300 free units per month, residents of Patiala have saved Rs 311.54 crores from July 2022 to April 2023.
Jauramajra said, “What Bhagwant Mann had promised before elections, he started fulfilling, implementing the decisions made from the day one.
Jauramajra said that there are about 5 lakh 64 thousand 707 consumers of domestic supply in Patiala and Patran under Sangrur circles of Punjab State Power Corporation limited and a total of 91.23 percent of them have got zero electricity bills for March-April and they saved Rs 55.69 crore in theses two months.
Residents of Patiala saved Rs 300 crore due to Zero bill scheme-Jauramajra. Elaborating further the minister said that in July 2022 only 7.61 percent domestic consumer have got the free power benefit and saved Rs 6 crore whereas in April 2023 a large number of power consumers have got zero bill for five consecutive terms.
As per PSPCL’s data from July 2022 to April 2023 the residents of Patiala have saved Rs 311.54 crore their hard earned money. In this march-April 2023 billing cycle 4 lac 69 thousands 977 domestic consumers have got zero bill.
Jauramajra further added that Bhagwant Mann govt is not only fulfilling it’s promises but also making Punjab a ‘Rangla Punjab’.
