University teachers adopted agitation path; implement 7th pay commission-Mohindru

The higher education system of Punjab state came to standstill on 4th Dec 2019 when PUTA organized a dharna along with the teacher’s association of other state universities of Punjab & Panjab University, Chandigarh in demand of implementation of 7th Pay commission.
Dr Pankaj Mohindru, Chairman Human Rights Cell, Congress Party who is also Senior Faculty in the department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Head-USIC said that the moral of the teachers is very low which could result the overall effectiveness of their teaching in totality. The future of the students studying seems to be dark in these state universities of Punjab, if this situation prevails further.
The Punjabi University is on verge of collapse as they are not able to pay the salaries of its employees for the month of November 2019. There were more than 150 faculty members who left their work and sat on dharna in front of VC, Office at Punjabi University, Patiala.
Dr Pankaj Mohindru, Chairman of Human Rights of congress Party said “University teachers adopted agitation path; demanding implementation of 7th pay commission and appealed to his party Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and Finance Minister Manpreet Sigh Badal to save the University and release 500 Crore grant to Punjabi University to revive the higher education system which has gone into doldrums.”
